Chicago: The Overseas Congress has decided to call off the event where Swami Sandeepananda Giri was to be the chief guest. The cancellation of the program came about as a result of objections raised by Hindu organizations. There was widespread protest against the invitation of the Sandeepananda, who has been constantly delivering indecent and disrespectful speeches which sparked wide public protest. In light of these circumstances, the event was subsequently canceled.
Organizations including the Nair Association of Greater Chicago have openly voiced their disagreement. Even within the Overseas Congress, there was internal conflict over the decision to invite an individual who holds anti-Hindu views and is associated with the Communist movement. Questions have already been raised against the authenticity of the program. Additionally, the posters released by Sandeepananda on social media did not include the details of the organizers.
Swami Sandeepananda Giri, the self-proclaimed ‘Swami’ with pro-communist leanings, had made very rude and slanderous remarks about Lord Ganesha. A complaint has also been lodged against him with the Maharashtra Police. Amidst the intensifying protests against Shamseer’s anti-Hindu remarks, the situation was further escalated by Sandeepananda’s indecent comments. Meanwhile, Sandeepananda departed for the United States.
