Thiruvananthapuram: K Surendran, the BJP state president, strongly criticized Kadakampally Surendran for his recent statement in the Kerala assembly regarding the treasure of Sri Padmanabha Swami Temple.
He lashed out in response to the statement made by Kadakampally Surendran suggesting that the temple’s gold and money could be relocated to a museum. K. Surendran, also vociferously criticized both Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan and V D Satheeshan for allegedly plotting a scheme to relocate the funds and gold of Sri Padmanabha Swamy Temple to a museum.
He said, “I heard during the assembly proceedings that someone suggested transferring all the gold and money of Sri Padmanabha Swami Temple to a museum. If such a notion is being entertained, I have a message for Pinarayi Vijayan and VD Satheesan: even if the two political fronts join forces, the path you tread from Thiruvananthapuram won’t even yield grass. I dare you to prove me wrong. If you possess the audacity to attempt such an act, remember that the people of Kerala will strongly oppose your actions and will kick you down into the Arabian Sea. The treasure of Sri Padmanabha Swami is not something for the government to barter with.”
Furthermore, Surendran took a dig at Minister Saji Cherian, accusing him of retracting his controversial Saudi-related statement only after facing unfavorable reactions from minority groups.
“In Saji Cherian’s statements, there was no act of blasphemy regarding the Prophet or Allah. The remarks merely pertained to the ‘Adhan’ sound. However, within a span of 24 hours, Saji Cherian was compelled to retract his statement. There is no situation of scientific temper there. The application of scientific temperament appears to be directed solely towards Lord Ayyappa, Lord Ganapathi, Lord Parashuram, Padmanabha Swamy, and Guruvayurappan,” Surendran commented.
Comparing the situation with Speaker Shamseer’s comment on Lord Ganapathi, Surendran shed light on the apparent double standards and biased treatment of Hindus by the government.
K. Surendran, the BJP State President, firmly stated that “there is no need to impose scientific temper upon Hinduism. Both factions remain indifferent when one group of believers faces persecution. Our Kerala Speaker claims to possess a scientific temperament, yet his focus appears to lean in a particular direction. In the case of the Saji Cherian incident, the Speaker’s scientific temper seemed to go down.”
Additionally, Surendran addressed the ongoing controversy surrounding monthly salaries, asserting that the culpability extended not only to CM’s daughter Veena Vijayan but also to UDF leaders.
