Kottayam: The NDA has officially announced its candidate for the upcoming Puthuppally by-election. Lijin Lal, the current Kottayam district president, has been selected as the NDA’s candidate. Following extensive deliberations, the list proposed by the state leadership has gained approval from the national leadership. The Puthuppally by-election is set to witness a formidable three-cornered competition, with the NDA making a notable entry into the race.
Back in 2019, N. Hari stood as an NDA contender in the Puthuppally constituency, securing a total of 11,694 votes. The NDA plans to launch a campaign that prominently highlights the developmental aspirations of Puthuppally. Additionally, the campaign aims to expose the double stance of the left and right wings.
Lijin Lal, who has held the position of BJP Kottayam district general secretary since 2014, hails from Marangattupilly. He has previously served as the District President of Yuva Morcha and held the role of State Secretary. Lijin Lal had previously contested as the NDA candidate for the Kaduthuruthy constituency during the 2021 assembly elections.
