KOZHIKODE: The police conducted a surprise inspection at a lodge near Kozhikode Medical College, leading to the confiscation of 22 grams of MDMA. Estimated to be valued at approximately Rs 1 lakh, the seized contraband marks a significant success for law enforcement.

The operation led to the arrest of three individuals in connection with the incident. Salton, hailing from Chevayur, Aneesh from Kallayi, and Nishanth from Panniyankara have all been taken into custody. The inspection occurred yesterday morning as the police meticulously searched the premises. Authorities from the medical college police revealed that the accused had intended to distribute the MDMA, including within the vicinity of neighboring professional colleges. The confiscated MDMA, packaged for sale, was seized as evidence.

Furthermore, aside from the drugs, the police seized three motorcycles, a sum of Rs 13,500 in cash, and a accuracy weighing balance used for measuring MDMA quantities from the arrested individuals.

Coincidentally, a parallel incident unfolded in Chevayur, Kozhikode just the previous day. A separate group, responsible for the procurement and distribution of substantial amounts of MDMA from Bengaluru to Kerala, was successfully apprehended by law enforcement.
