Kannur prepares for Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan’s first Vande Bharat yatra amid security concerns

Kannur: Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan is embarking on a significant journey today as he takes the inaugural Vande Bharat Yatra from Kannur to Ernakulam. Despite his attendance at the inauguration ceremony of the Vande Bharat Express alongside the Prime Minister, this marks his first official journey aboard the modern high-speed train.

The Chief Minister’s travel plans are under heavy security scrutiny due to concerns over potential protests in response to allegations against his daughter, Veena Vijayan. The Chief Minister’s coach will be closely guarded by security personnel throughout the journey in a bid to ensure his safety and mitigate any possible disruptions.

Additionally, the Vande Bharat Express itself has faced its fair share of challenges, particularly with incidents of stone pelting during its stops. This has led to the authorities implementing strict security arrangements at stations along the route, up to Ernakulam. The use of advanced technology, including Dawn cameras, for security checks prior to the train’s departure showcases the commitment to ensuring the safety of passengers and the seamless functioning of the Vande Bharat Express.
