Thiruvananthapuram: BJP State President, K Surendran, said that Chief Minister, Pinarayi Vijayan, has received more money than his daughter Veena Vijayan got through monthly payment from Cochin Minerals and Rutile Limited (CMRL). Surendran also said that the CM has violated national laws to help mining companies and said that reports coming out are pointing to it.

K Surendran remarked that the CPI(M) believes that the contracts are legal. He asked if the contracts are legal then explanation must be given into why money was transferred to Veena Vijayan’s account.

He added that in criminal conspiracy has taken place in the monthly payment issue. The Chief Minister has received more money than what was given to Veena. How does only Pinarayi Vijayan get this money, asked Surendran.

Surendran also asked why no investigative agency in Kerala is probing the allegation of money collection. He also accused that Chief Minister, Pinarayi Vijayan, and Opposition Leader, VD Satheesan, are considered divine in the state and both of them are hand-in-gloves in settling the cases leveled against them.

K Surendran mentioned that the BJP will approach Central government to request probe by national agencies. He also challenged the opposition leader, VD Satheesan, if he can demand an investigation by the central agencies.

Surendran dubbed VD Satheesan as a fake opposition leader. VD Satheesan and the Congress party tried to downplay the monthly payment row. He had earlier told the media that it is only normal for political leaders to receive money. Satheesan and the Congress party is in a fix after their leaders’ names got involved in the monthly payment controversy.

Income Tax Department had found out that the CM’s daughter, Veena Vijayan, and her firm Exalogic Solutions were getting payment monthly by CMRL. The IT sleuths had found out that neither Veena nor her firm had rendered any service to CMRL to warrant such a payment.

The IT Department in a raid also uncovered a diary which contained names of many prominent leaders, officer, police, all of whom were paid by the CMRL. The names include Congress leaders, Oommen Chandy, Ramesh Chennithala, and Muslim League leaders such as PK Kunhalikutty and Ibrahim Kunju.

The name of Pinarayi Vijayan also features in the diary as revealed by the Income Tax Department.
