Thrissur: A CPI(M) goon, who was given a life sentence for his involvement in the high-profile TP Chandrasekaran murder case, was accorded a royal pleasure trip with police escort while in custody at Viyyur Central Jail. A video has surfaced showing Kodi Suni, the contract killer from CPI(M), and Anoop, the primary accused sentenced to life imprisonment for the TP murder, enjoying luxurious facilities while traveling by train from Thrissur to Kannur.
T. P. Chandrasekharan (July 1960 – 4 May 2012) was an Indian politician who was the founder of Revolutionary Marxist Party (RMP), a breakaway group of Communist Party of India (Marxist) (CPI(M)). T. P. Chandrasekharan left the CPI(M) on account of its right opportunist politics and went on to form the Revolutionary Marxist Party. He was hacked to death on May 4, 2012 at the behest of the CPI(M). After his murder the veteran CPI M leader V.S. Achuthanandan had initially maintained that Chandrashekaran was a brave communist.
Notably, Kodi Suni carries a notorious criminal record and is also implicated in the sensational Fazal murder case and the Kathirur Manoj murder case. The prescribed protocols and etiquettes that police should adhere to when transporting individuals under judicial custody were blatantly ignored. Janam TV has unveiled a video capturing their comfortable journey, aboard the train.
The policemen accompanying the prisoners on this leisurely trip chose not to restrain them with handcuffs. Given that the home ministry is under the direct purview of the Chief Minister, it was truly astonishing to witness the police offering amenities that allow this criminal to socialize with companions, make telephone calls, and even interact with supporters at the stations. This footage has been shared by Senior Journalist Anil Nambiar.
The question raised by the viewers of this video is that, if these party thugs are left free to do as they please while in police custody, one can guess what comforts they will be experiencing inside the jail?
Earlier, there were reports regarding the favorable treatment extended to the TP Chandrasekaran murder case convicts behind bars. There are also reports of numerous CPI(M) leaders taking shifts to visit the prisons and inquire about the welfare of these party-affiliated criminals. So far, the party seems to maintain the stance that the CPI(M) played no part in the assassination of TP Chandra Shekhar.
