Thiruvananthapuram: Cricket enthusiasts and fans of Team India have reason to celebrate as ticket sales for India’s warm-up match ahead of the ODI Cricket World Cup have officially begun in Thiruvananthapuram. The match, set to be a thrilling precursor to the World Cup, is scheduled for October 3 and will be held at Greenfield Stadium.

The Greenfield Stadium, while not among the venues for the major matches of the men’s cricket World Cup, has been selected as the venue for four exciting warm-up matches, including the one featuring the Indian cricket team. These warm-up games got underway yesterday and are expected to provide an early glimpse of the teams’ form and strategies.

All warm-up matches will be played during the day and night, with the action commencing at 2 PM IST. A unique feature of these warm-up matches is that all players in the 15-man squad are eligible to participate, allowing teams to experiment with different combinations and strategies before the official tournament kicks off.

In addition to the Thiruvananthapuram warm-up match between India and an opponent yet to be determined, tickets for the India-England warm-up match in Guwahati are also available for purchase starting today. The warm-up phase will continue with fixtures including England vs. Bangladesh in Guwahati on October 2, Afghanistan vs. Sri Lanka in Guwahati on October 3, and Pakistan vs. Australia in Hyderabad on October 3.
