THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Actor and farmer Krishna Prasad reacted to the incident where actor Jayasurya criticized the ministers for saying that the farmers should get the amount of paddy procured by Supplyco. After actor Jayasurya’s statement in Kalamassery became controversial, actor Krishna Prasad also stepped forward and criticized the ministers for their negligence in handling the farmers’ issue. Actor Krishna Prasad affirmed that his friend and fellow actor Jayasurya’s remarks about the farmers’ issue are absolutely factual.
Krishna Prasad further remarked that no one had protested for not receiving funds for him. “Jayasurya and I have merely highlighted the harsh reality faced by farmers in Kerala. Our expression of concern for farmers has led to cyber attacks against us and criticism from the ministers themselves,” Krishna Prasad stated.
He went on to highlight that thousands of farmers are still awaiting funds from the Kerala state government. “Last year, heavy rains led to crop loss, and this time it’s due to summer.
If the ministers had demonstrated the same eagerness in securing the receipt of the money given for me, as they did in the case of the poor farmer, the challenges faced by farmers could have been resolved within a single day. However, their focus seems solely fixated on criticizing others. Personally, I received the money after a period of two and a half months, and it was provided in the form of a loan. None of farmers are providing rice for loan,” Krishna Prasad emphasized.
He also extended his admiration to his colleague Jayasurya for his willingness to address farmers’ issues. Krishna Prasad questioned the fairness of criticizing Jayasurya for speaking up on behalf of farmers. He expressed his frustration, asking why the authorities fail to comprehend the hardships endured by farmers.
Meanwhile, actor Jayasurya reiterated his stance, reaffirming his criticism of Kerala state ministers for their negligence in handling the farmers’ issue.
