Nedumangadu: A woman in Nedumangadu in Thiruvananthapuram district, Sheeja Bheegum, jumped into a well and committed suicide after hearing the tragic death of her son in an accident. Her son, Sajin Muhammed (28), had met with an accident yesterday at the Veterinary University campus in Wayanadu district.
Hearing the news of Sajin’s accident, Sheeja Bheegum and her relatives started towards Wayanad. However, the relatives came to know of Sajin’s death late at night. They returned and dropped Sheeja at home and proceeded to Wayanad.
Sheeja Bheegum came to know of her son’s death through social media and committed suicide by jumping into a well. Her body has been recovered and is now at the Medical College Hospital.
The police have taken into custody the vehicle involved in the death of Sajin Muhammed.
Sajin Muhammed was a final year MVSc student at Veterinary University in Wayanad. Sheeja Bheegum was a retired Government LP School teacher. Her husband Sulaiman is retired Range Officer. They have a daughter too.
