ERNAKULAM: The condition of the girl, who was attacked by a young man, remains critical. The girl is currently on emergency ventilator support for treatment. Meanwhile, doctors have confirmed that all surgeries aimed at saving the girl’s life have been completed.
The victim, a nursing student, was attacked by the young man after she rejected his love proposal. After the attack, he committed suicide. The assailant confronted the girl while she was sitting in front of her house.
He entered the house compound with the intention of attacking the girl and had a machete and a bat with him. Upon hearing the girl’s screams, her grandparents rushed to the front of the house. The grandfather attempted to intervene, but he too was attacked by the young man. The grandmother also tried to defend and was likewise assaulted.
Following the post-mortem examination, the body of the young man who hanged himself after the attack was cremated.
