Kozhikode: A report said that the Taluk Land Board submitted a report which says that 15 acres of land in the hands of Nilambur MLA, PV Anvar, can be confiscated as it is surplus land. The Authorised Officer reported that Anvar committed irregularities to bypass the Land Ceiling Act.

According to the report, it is found that Anvar created documents to mislead the Land Board. It is also found that the MLA began a partnership firm to bypass the land ceiling rules. There are irregularities in the setting up the firm in the name of Anvar’s wife.

The Land Board’s report comes when legal proceedings are already moving forward in the High Court against PV Anvar in the surplus land case. PV Shaji the complainant handed over more evidences to the Land Board against PV Anvar and his family members for keeping surplus land. He handed documents of 34.37 acres of land. On the basis of this it was found that PV Anvar and his family members held surplus land of 19.26 acres.

Notice has been served to PV Anvar, first wife Sheeja Anvar, second wife Afsath Anvar, and seven other family members.

PV Anvar is the CPI(M) MLA from Nilambur and has been earlier accused in illegal constructions and encroachments. He earlier had tried to suppress and intimidate online media personalities and issued threats to mainstream media personalities with continuous court cases.
