Kochi: The High Court of Kerala criticized the state government for not paying the farmers after procuring rice from them. Justice PV Kunhikrishnan said that the failure of the government and the Supplyco not following the court’s order to pay the farmers within one week is contempt of court.
The High Court in an interim order said that the payment must be done within 25th of this month, failing which the Principal Secretary of the Agriculture Department and the MD of Supplyco must appear before the court.
