Palakkad: During the day, a thief tried to steal a necklace from a house by breaking a window. The necklace belonged to a lady named Najia, who is related to Abu Bakr. The family noticed the thief and shouted, so the thief ran away. Later, while the lady was in the kitchen, the thief tried to steal her valuable necklace again, but the family scared him off.

The thief initially attempted to break the necklace through the window, but Najia and the thief ended up grappling for it. In the midst of the struggle, Najia’s sister-in-law, Musina, arrived and successfully rescued Najia from the thief’s clutches. By the time the family rushed to the scene upon hearing their screams, the thief had managed to escape. They immediately informed the Trithala police, but unfortunately, the thief could not be apprehended.

There have been reports of a rampant robbery spree in the Trithala and Chalissery areas recently. Just last night, a staggering seven houses fell victim to burglaries in the Pattithara Alur area. Numerous valuables, including cash and bicycles, have been stolen from various locations. Despite the installation of CCTV cameras in some houses, it has been reported that many of them are non-functional, according to the police. The police have announced plans to intensify nighttime patrols and have advised residents to exercise caution and remain vigilant.
