THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A case has been registered against Dr. Manoj for sexually assaulting a lady doctor at Ernakulam General Hospital. In 2018, another lady doctor working at the same hospital had filed a complaint against him, which she submitted via email. According to her complaint, Dr. Manoj, who was the head of the General Medicine Department, had behaved indecently.
The lady doctor has now lodged a formal complaint with the Ernakulam Central Police. Further action will be taken after recording the complainant’s statement, the police have stated.
In 2019, another case was registered against Dr. Manoj on charges of rape. The complaint alleged that he sexually assaulted a lady doctor who was undergoing an internship in-house surgery. The house surgeon doctor posted on Facebook, describing the sexual harassment she had experienced, and subsequently filed an official complaint with the police. Following this, the Health Minister intervened and directed that strict action be taken.
In the current situation, lady doctor has registered a sexual assault complaint against the same doctor, this time via email. Presently, Dr. Manoj is working at Aluva District Hospital.
