THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: BJP leader Asha Nath has criticised the CPI (M) for their frequent cyber attacks, asserting that she will not be intimidated by their sinister tactics.

Last Sunday, newly elected MLA Chandy Oommen visited the Chenkal Maheswaram Sri Sivaparvathi Temple in Thiruvananthapuram and participated in the ‘Thulabharam’ ritual.

For the auspicious pooja, Asha Nath G S, a BJP leader and Ward Councillor at Pappanamcode, Trivandrum Corporation, and CPI (M) District Panchayat Member Surya S Prem also attended. However, left-wing cyberbullies launched a massive campaign by cropping only Chandy Oommen and Asha Nath’s photograph.

Left-wing Facebook pages, including ‘Porali Shaji,’ propagated the cropped image as evidence of BJP vote-switching in the Puthupally by-election, disparaging the BJP woman leader.

In a situation where such false propaganda continues by the CPI(M), BJP leader Asha Nath has come forward and strongly criticised the CPI(M)’s dirty politics.

Asha Nath responded, “I have noticed that some cropped images are spreading on social media by left cyberbullies, and I have ignored them because, as you all know, the dirty politics of the CPI(M). I affirm that I will not be afraid of CPI(M)’s sinister attacks. I visited the temple and attended the program as I was invited as a public representative by the temple committee. It is common for social leaders and public representatives from different political parties to participate in a public event. I don’t need permission from the CPI(M) for that”.

She then criticised that real women empowerment is not about building women’s walls and making public speeches about women’s protection.

She further stated that leaders from various political parties, including MLA Vincent, BJP leader Chenkal S Rajasekharan Nair, CPI(M) leader Surya S Prem, and CPI(M) Block Panchayat member Jojin, participated in the program. However, the intentional cropping of Chandy Oomen’s photograph alongside mine and sharing on social media is not acceptable. I will never be afraid of such sinister activities. She added that she will continue her social activities and will not be suppressed by such false propaganda. Asha Nath posted this on her Facebook page.
