Thiruvananthapuram: The Pinarayi Vijayan-led government in Kerala is contemplating a significant Cabinet reshuffle, with discussions set to take place during the upcoming LDF meeting scheduled for next week. Sources indicate that Health Minister Veena George may be nominated as the new Speaker of the House, while the current Speaker, AN Shamseer, is expected to transition into a ministerial role.
The potential reshuffle comes amid growing criticism of Veena George’s performance as Health Minister. AN Shamseer has also faced severe backlash for his public criticism of the Hindu community while holding the constitutionally significant position of Speaker.
However, there is information that many in the CPI(M) are not too keen to inlcude KB Ganesh Kumar as Minister in the government. Recently, a CBI report had pointed to a conspiracy to involve former Chief Minister, Oommen Chandy, in a sexual assault case related to Solar case. Ganesh Kumar’s name has come up for his involvement with the Solar case accused, who leveled the charges against Oommen Chandy.
Former lawyer of the Solar case accused told that it was at the insistence of Ganesh Kumar that the Solar case accused had inserted the name of Oommen Chandy in the sexual assault complaint.
