Kozhikode: In a concerning development during the ongoing Nipah virus crisis, the District Athletic Association in Kozhikode has found itself conducting selection trials in blatant violation of district regulations. The selection trials, which saw the participation of approximately 300 individuals, including children and parents, took place despite the existing restrictions imposed by the district collector.
The violation of these regulations has prompted swift action from local authorities, with the Balussery police responding to the situation. The apparent disregard for the restrictions set in place to combat the Nipah virus has raised concerns about public safety and the potential spread of the virus.
Meanwhile, the district continues to grapple with the Nipah crisis. Following the detection of Nipah cases in the city of Kozhikode, stringent measures have been put in place, including the mandatory wearing of masks for all residents. Additionally, new containment zones have been announced within the city.
