Thiruvananthapuram: Kerala Governor, Arif Mohammed Khan, said that PP Mukundan lived and died for an ideology he believed in. The Governor was speaking at a memorial function held to commemorate BJP leader PP Mukundan who passed away a few days ago.
The Governor said that the function gives him more trust in democracy and added that PP Mukundan’s philosophy did not hinder from making social relations with everyone.
Chief Minister, Pinarayi Vijayan, said that PP Mukundan was a man of exceptional leadership quality. He said that PP Mukundan was the prime example of how to work in an organization and said that the late BJP leader was a presence in the meetings called by the governments of the time.
The CM remembered PP Mukundan as a person who maintained relations with people from opposing fronts even when very serious issues arose. He was a dedicated person and was someone who could be emulated for his self sacrifice and work.
CPI leader, C Divakaran, said that if RSS is of people like PP Mukundan then he loves RSS. He also recalled about an incident when PP Mukundan visited his house unexpectedly. The issue was related to the working of a Shaka at Manacaud in Thiruvananthapuram. The complaint was that the Shaka was being held on the land of a member of CPI and it was stopped after Divakaran called up the member.
The next day, PP Mukundan, reached C Divakaran’s house and very softly said not to stop the Shaka at Manacaud. His gentle approach and his bright personality earned the respect of all the members of Divakaran’s family members.
C Divakaran added that if everyone in RSS is like PP Mukundan then there would not be any problem. He was a person with no ego. The communist leader also added that after PP Mukundan left his house, his wife told him not to block the working of RSS Shaka.
BJP State Presdient, K Surendran, said that the death of PP Mukundan is an irreplaceable loss for the BJP. He said that PP Mukundan’s legacy can be witnessed by the respect that the people offer him even when he did not have any authority or post. Surendran reminded that PP Mukundan was a leader who knew the homes and family members of common party workers closely.
