Kannur: Sachin, husband of Megha (28) who committed suicide in his house, has surrendered before the court in connection with the case. Sachin surrenderd in the Thalassery Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate Court. Despite his unsuccessful attempt to secure anticipatory bail, Sachin sought relief from the High Court, but his plea was denied. Subsequently, the accused chose to surrender before the court.
The incident occurred on June 12 when Megha was found dead by hanging at her marital home in Kathirur. Following a complaint filed by Megha’s parents, alleging that the woman had taken her own life due to alleged mistreatment by Sachin, an investigation was initiated. Sachin was subsequently charged with abetment to suicide in connection with the case.
During the postmortem examination, it was found that Megha had suffered from 16 injuries. Initially, the Kathirur Police undertook the initial investigation, followed by the Thalassery ASP, and currently, the case is under the jurisdiction of the Crime Branch. Sachin and Megha got married on April 2.
