Elizabeth Antony supports Anil Antony’s BJP entry, citing political independence

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Senior Congress leader AK Antony’s wife Elizabeth Antony extends support to her son, Anil K. Antony’s entry to BJP.

Elizabeth said that Anil joined the BJP completely based on his own political principles. I always gave him a space to select his ideas and opinions. His father, who taught him politics, also taught him to think independently. He is mature enough to identify what is ‘right’ and what is wrong’.

Elizabeth said this in her speech at Alappuzha Kalavoor Kreupasanam church. She said that she knew about her son’s interest in joining BJP even before AK Antony came to know.

Elizabeth pointed out that AK Antony does not appreciate nepotism in the congress party, so he did not discourage Anil Antony joining the BJP. She asserted that there were no family issues because of Anil joining the BJP. He did what he felt right.
