Kozhikode: The police are on the search for a gang that rents houses and indulges in sale of cannabis from these rented houses. Following a tip-off, the police were able to recover cannabis in a search at various rented houses in Kozhikode and Kannur.
Police confiscated 31 grams of cannabis from the house of Peruvayal native, Arshad. The incident occurred at Chulur in Kozhikode.
The police raided the house after receiving a tip-off and were able to recover the cannabis. They also collected visuals of the CCTV installed at the house for examination. The police believe that they will get clear evidences about who all are bringing the illegal substances and about the identity of the rest of the gang from the CCTV footage.
Meanwhile, the police recovered 157 grams of cannabis from a house at Puthiyatheruvu in Kannur. The ganja was recovered from the house of K Jesil, who is living at Kottally Haji Quarters. The accused escaped when he spotted the police officers. The Vallapatanam police have registered a case.
