THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Despite multiple cases being filed against CPI Leader N. Bhasurangan in connection with the Kandala Service Co-operative Bank scam, the police have not yet taken any action, not even for questioning him.
Notably, Bhasurangan was named as the first accused in 66 cases related to this scam.
Despite multiple reports detailing various scams and criminal cases filed against Bhasurangan, he is still holding the position of administrator at Milma.
More than 1500 individuals who invested in Kandala bank have lost their money due to these scams, which were carried out under the names ‘Nitya Nidhi’ and ‘Soubhagya Investments,’ as discovered by the co-operative registrar.
Bhasurangan, along with other members of the bank’s administrative committee, allegedly embezzled the deposits of financially vulnerable individuals. When depositors realized they had been financially deceived, many of them filed complaints against Bhasurangan and the bank’s management committee. However, initially, the state police were reluctant to file the cases.
Depositors have also alleged that despite reports of scams involving crores of rupees in the Kandala Service Co-operative Bank, the investigation led by Kattakkada DySP is not progressing as it should.
Yesterday, Janam English exclusively reported that Maranallur police have registered an attempt to murder charges against N. Bhasurangan after receiving a complaint from Balakrishnan, a victim of the Kandala Service Cooperative Bank scam. It is alleged that Bhasurangan and his son attempted to murder Balakrishnan.
