Kannur: The High Court has acquitted RSS workers in the Central Prison case linked to the death of CP(I)M member Raveendran. The High Court has overturned the life sentences of five individuals and mitigated the sentences of the remaining two.
This verdict comes in response to an appeal filed by the accused parties. The court arrived at its decision after considering the insufficiency of evidence and the questionable reliability of testimonies. The incident in question dates back to April 6, 2004, when a fatal clash occurred within the prison premises, leading to Raveendran’s death.
