Thiruvananthapuram: In response to recent incidents of violence against lawyers within court premises, the High Court has taken awareness of the matter and is actively working towards ensuring the security of lawyers in their places of employment. This decision comes in the aftermath of an attack on a lawyer in Nedumangad.
Recently, lawyers have become victims of violence on court premises. It is the responsibility of the government to ensure the safety of lawyers. Recognising the gravity of the situation, a division bench comprising Justices Jayasankaran Nambiar and Kauser Edappagath has asserted that, if necessary, they will voluntarily intervene to address the security concerns of lawyers.
The legal cell state committee registered a protest against the violence against the lawyers. The Legal Cell State Committee also demanded a committee to investigate violence against lawyers.
