THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The High Court instructed film reviewers not to destroy the film industry. The High Court made this statement while considering a plea to restrict the publication of negative reviews on the release day itself. The court also clarified that no order has been issued to prevent the release of reviews within seven days of a movie’s release, and there are no specific regulations against reviews.
The court inquired about the actions taken by the association so far, emphasising that their involvement only came after the court’s intervention.
The High Court heard a petition filed by Mubeen Rouf, the director of the recently released movie ‘Aromalinte Aadhyathe Pranayam.’ Mubeen Rouf had filed a petition in the High Court seeking restrictions on negative reviews through social media, even without viewing the movie.
Kerala High Court appointed amicus curiae reported that vloggers are review-bombing the several movies on time of release itself.
In this matter, the High Court had previously sought explanations from the central and state governments.
