Thrissur: In a scathing statement, BJP State Vice President Adv. B Gopalakrishnan has labelled MK Kannan as the “Takeover King of Thrissur.” Gopalakrishnan accused Kannan of orchestrating fraudulent takeovers of loans through benami transactions and further raised concerns over his failure to disclose property details to the Enforcement Directorate (ED). Gopalakrishnan emphasized that if Kannan remains reticent about sharing these property details, the public will take matters into their own hands. The BJP, he warned, is prepared to organize an open protest if transparency is not upheld.
Simultaneously, the probe into the Karuvannur Bank scandal has expanded its scope to include the Cooperative Department and cooperative institutions. The ED is scheduled to interrogate Cooperative Department Registrar TV Subhas and Rabco Managing Director Haridasan Nambiar today. This development follows reports that cooperative department officials and Kerala Bank Vice President MK Kannan have not been forthcoming with cooperation in the investigation, prompting authorities to extend their inquiry to higher-ranking department officials.
