Conflict erupts between Congress and CPI(M) workers during Co-operative Bank Election in Idukki

Idukki: A violent confrontation occurred during the cooperative bank elections in Vagamon, Idukki, as workers from the Congress and CPI(M) clashed. The dispute centred around the Malanadu Service Cooperative Bank election in Vagamon. The dispute broke out between the two political factions, prompting the swift intervention of police to quell the violence. It has been reported that some police officers sustained injuries during the incident.

This incident follows a recent clash at the Agricultural Cooperative Bank in Pathanamthitta. Congress supporters alleged fraudulent voting by CPI (M) backers, which escalated into a physical altercation. Amid the confrontation, former Aranmula MLA K C Rajagopal sustained injuries.
