SDPI extends support for Hamas, inaugurates Palestine solidarity rally in Kerala

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The SDPI Kerala leader Muvattupuzha Ashraf Moulavi extended support for the Islamic terrorist group Hamas.

In light of the Palestinian terrorist group Hamas, which has been associated to several terrorism acts in Israel, countries worldwide, including our own Bharath, have raised their voices against a range of heinous acts. These acts include the assault of women, massacres, desecration of corpses, brutal killings of children, and advocating for the establishment of an Islamic state on a global scale.

Despite global outrage, some SDPI (Social Democratic Party of India) leaders in Kerala support Hamas. While endorsing these terrorism acts, SDPI leader Muvattupuzha Ashraf Moulavi declared, “those with a sense of justice could only Palestine.” He made this pro-Hamas statement during the inauguration of a Palestine solidarity rally and meeting organised by the SDPI Ernakulam district committee in Perumbavoor.

Earlier, K Surendran, the BJP state president, strongly criticised leaders from the CPI(M) and Congress for their pro-Hamas statements, accusing them of engaging in opportunistic vote-banking politics.

It’s also note worthy that the CPI(M) leader, KK Shailaja, recently sparked controversy with a social media post regarding the Israel-Palestine conflict. In her post, Shailaja condemned the recent attack by the Muslim terrorist group Hamas, but she also expressed support for Palestine, leading to accusations of a dual stance on the issue.

Later, the senior leader Shailaja withdrew her Facebook statement in which she referred to Hamas as Muslim terrorists, and this was followed by reactions from CPI(M) leaders, including KT Jaleel.

There have been several allegations against Congress, CPI(M), and SDPI for making pro-Hamas statements as part of their opportunistic politics. Such leaders in Kerala who support Hamas often do not fully analyse the real situation in Israel.
