Thrissur: Former Justice B Kemal Pasha endorsed Suresh Gopi’s protest march aimed at mobilizing public awareness regarding the scam at Karuvannur Cooperative Bank. “A fraud of crores has taken place in Karuvannur. Suresh Gopi conducted a march to protest against it,” Justice Kemal Pasha openly criticized the government, asserting that the legal action against Suresh Gopi, who spoke out against corruption, amounts to an assault on democracy.
”What is wrong about Suresh Gopi’s protest march? Was it not in response to the corruption unfolding at Karuvannur? A fraud exceeding 300 crores has been committed. All this has gone into the pockets of politicians. There should be an investigation into this. What is wrong with marching and calling out this corruption? Suresh Gopi was marching against corruption,” said the former Justice.
Suresh Gopi conducted the march without mocking the government or launching attacks on other politicians. His focus was on exposing the money laundering activities in Karuvannur. It is true that the scam has happened. Advocating for a legal case against Suresh Gopi amounts to demolition of democracy. People possess the right to express reactions and criticisms, and Suresh Gopi, being a part of the public, is entitled to exercise that right. Kemal Pasha asserted that the case against Suresh Gopi was politically driven.
