THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: K Surendran, the BJP State President, strongly criticised MC Dathan, the scientific advisor to Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijan, for verbally assaulting journalists. Dathan used impolite and abusive language towards news reporters this morning in Thiruvananthapuram.

Surendran expressed his criticism through a Facebook post. In his stern remarks, he mentioned that persons who used the communist flag without being productive during their government employment are now appointed as advisers, possibly to misuse government funds, and their disrespect for working journalists is unacceptable. He further stated that such individuals could potentially harm Kerala.

The incident occurred this morning during the Secretariat blockade protest organised by the UDF in opposition to the corrupt administration of the LDF government in Kerala. As a result of the protest, public transportation in Thiruvananthapuram was diverted by the police from the morning.

Then, MC Dathan’s vehicle was also stopped by the police near the Secretariat annex building, as they were unaware of his identity as the scientific advisor. However, some journalists quickly informed the police, and he was granted permission to enter the Secretariat. However, his vehicle was not allowed to proceed, and he enter by walk.

Following this, news reporters asked about the incident, to which Dathan responded with an angry outburst. He yelled at the reporters, saying, “Don’t you have any other work? Otherwise, you might as well go begging.”
