New Delhi: The Union Cabinet on Wednesday approved a four percent increase in Dearness Allowance (DA) for Central government employees and Dearness Relief for pensioners.
Information and Broadcasting Minister Anurag Thakur told reporters after the Union Cabinet that the DA for central government employees has been hiked to 46 per cent from 42 per cent, and it will be implemented from July 1, 2023.
The decision by the Union Cabinet will benefit 48.67 lakh central government employees and 67.95 lakh pensioners.This increase is in accordance with the accepted formula, based on the recommendations of the 7th Central Pay Commission.
Additionally, the Centre also announced minimum support prices (MSPs) for six rabi crops of 2023-24 to be marketed in the rabi marketing season 2024-25, with the wheat MSP seeing an increase of Rs 150 per quintal or 7 per cent.
