Thiruvananthapuram: A national seminar on the topic “Hindi Aur Malayalam Mein Transgender Vimarsh” has started at Government Sanskrit College, Thiruvananthapuram. The three-day long seminar was inaugurated by internationally renowned poetess and writer Dr. Lata Agarwal.
Dr. Lata Agarwal, who has received distinguished awards from 15 countries, is currently conducting studies and researches on transgender issues.
College Principal Dr. Amala VK presided over the function. Noted transgender poetess and Kerala Sahitya Akademi member Dr. (HC) Vijayarajamallika was the guest of honor. Prof. (Dr) Suma GS, Principal, Malayinkeezhu Government College and Prof. (Dr.) Sheelakumari L, Principal, Nedumangad Government College were felicitated in the function. Prof. (Dr) LR Jayashree, Dr. Harinarayanan and Kumari Sayujya offered their greetings. Seminar Coordinator and Head of Hindi Department Dr. Sherlyn gave the welcome speech and Dr. Lakshmi Vijayan VT, faculty of Sanskrit Nyaya Department gave the vote of thanks.
The three-day national seminar will end on November 1.
