Thiruvananthapuram: The residents of Kerala will face an increase in electricity charge from tomorrow as the Kerala State Electricity Board (KSEB) seeks an average hike of Rs. 40 paise per unit. This decision was reached following a discussion between the Regulatory Commission and the Chief Minister.
The Chief Minister informed the Regulatory Commission that, an increase in electricity charge would be necessary, and the formal order detailing the new charge will be released shortly. Initially scheduled to increase the electricity charge in April, the hike was delayed due to a case in the High Court and the government’s stance on the matter.
