Palakkad: Fire broke out at Devi Cinemas in Cherpulassery during the screening of the movie “Leo.” The incident occurred near the projector cabin, with initial findings suggesting a possible short circuit as the cause.
As smoke started filling the theater, audience swiftly evacuated the premises in a bid to ensure their safety. According to theatre staff, at the time of the incident, approximately 15 individuals were inside the theatre.
Theatre staff attempted to combat the flames using a fire extinguisher, which helped partially control the fire. Subsequently, the fire fighters arrived at the scene and successfully brought the fire under control, averting a potential disaster. Fortunately, no injuries were reported in the incident.
Local police are currently investigating the incident to determine the exact cause of the fire.
