PATHANAMTHITTA: The reservation bookings for the virtual queue during this year’s Sabarimala Mandala Pilgrimage season have officially begun.
Pilgrims can secure their virtual queue reservations for the Mandala Pooja, November 16th to December 25, 2023. Additionally, reservations for the monthly pooja on Chithira Aatta Thirunal, scheduled for November 10th and 11th, 2023, are also open.
However, bookings for the Makaravilakku pooja on November 27th will be made available shortly after the pilgrimage commences.
To secure a spot in the virtual queue, pilgrims should make their reservations through the website: sabarimalaonline.org , https://sabarimalaonline.org/#/login.
Virtual reservations are required for Darshan and Abhishekam to facilitate the convenience of devotees.
The Devaswom Board has clarified that they have no control over the booking process. But, the police have received secret instructions to ensure that the number of pilgrims does not exceed one lakh (100,000) per day.
This decision is prompted by the fact that when the number of devotees surpasses 90,000 in a day, pilgrims often have to wait for several hours to reach the Sannidhanam. Some have alleged that this control is necessary due to the lack of facilities provided by the Kerala state government to accommodate such a large number of devotees.
In response to safety concerns, the police have requested the Devaswom Board to install display boards to keep pilgrims informed and alert regarding safety measures.
