Thiruvananthapuram: City Police Commissioner CH Nagaraju has reassured the public that the issues arising at Manaveeyam Veedhi are common during the initial phase and will be effectively addressed. He also emphasised the need for special checks to prevent the entry of individuals using drugs into the nightlife scene.
Recognising the importance of providing a space for people to enjoy the nightlife, Commissioner Nagaraju affirmed that measures will be implemented to manage overcrowding issues. He said that any problems similar to those experienced in recent days would be met with appropriate responses.
Nagaraju emphasised that nightlife is intended for people of all ages, and one person’s actions should not impede another’s enjoyment. Therefore, activities that disrupt the experience of others will not be tolerated.
To address noise concerns, restrictions will be imposed on the use of microphones, drums, and other noisy instruments after 10 p.m., with the aim of minimising disturbance to nearby residents and preventing noise pollution. Measures will also be put in place to control the presence of individuals carrying intoxicants. The restrictions in the city would be imposed in such a way that they would not affect the enjoyment of nightlife.
