Kannur: A gunfight between communist terrorists and the Thunderbolt force erupted in Ayyankunnu within the Uruppukutty forest, resulting in a sustained exchange of gunfire. Locals reported hearing continuous gunshots for about ten minutes in the vicinity. The confrontation transpired during a routine Thunderbolt patrol.
In response to the presence of communist terrorists, additional forces have been deployed to the area for thorough inspections.
