Thiruvananthapuram: Four Kerala State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) employees were suspended due to serious misconduct and indiscipline. Notably, one of the suspended individuals allowed free travel without purchasing tickets, and another one was involved in a POCSO case.
Conductor GG. V. Chelappuram from the Perumbavoor unit is among those suspended. He was suspended for a pending investigation into his involvement in a POCSO case. The suspension follows a 16-year-old student who lodged a complaint with the Aluva East Police, accusing that she had been subjected to insults. Chelappuram, who has been absconding since the 23rd of last month, failed to report for work.
Furthermore, on the 23rd of last month, Anil Johny, the conductor of the Punalur unit, allowed a passenger a free ride on the Kollam-Kayamkulam service bus. Subsequently, on the 11th of this month, he caused a disturbance in the staff room of the Kothamangalam unit while allegedly under the influence of alcohol.
