Pathanamthitta: Devaswom Minister K. Radhakrishnan has declared that efforts are underway to promptly remove the inedible aravana stored in Sannidhanam. The minister explains that the delay in the matter is due to the ongoing search for enough manpower to dispose of the Aravanas.
A considerable stockpile of 6.65 lakh tins of unused Aravana is currently present in Sannidhanam. Minister Radhakrishnan informed the public that discussions are ongoing to address the disposal of the accumulated Aravana, with several companies expressing interest in the process.
The minister argued that the Devaswom Board is facing an impending loss of Rs 7 crore due to the necessity of discarding Aravana valued at Rs 6 crore and 65 lakh. He emphasised that storing the Aravanas in Malikappuram poses no issues. The Supreme Court had granted permission to the board for the disposal, but officials clarified that governmental assistance is required to carry out the task.
