Thiruvananthapuram: The Director of Public Education has issued strict mandates regarding the provision of school buses for the Nava Kerala Sadas organised by the state government. The directive specifies that school buses may be allocated upon request from event organizers, with the condition that the fuel costs and driver’s allowances are to be borne by the organizers themselves.
The Nava Kerala Sadas is set to commence today in Kasaragod, with Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan scheduled to arrive in Manjeshwaram in the afternoon. It was said that the decision to make school buses available for the event is aimed at enhancing the convenience of the public attending the Nava Kerala Sadas programme.
In preparation for the event, a specially constructed bus for the Chief Minister and other ministers was transported to Kasaragod earlier this morning. Later, the bus has been relocated to the AR camp. However, the decision to deploy school buses for the Nava Kerala Sadas has sparked criticism, with concerns raised about the potential impact on students. Critics argue that the diversion of school buses for the event could adversely affect the daily commute of students.
