Kochi: Enforcement Directorate (ED)’s investigation in the Karuvannur Cooperative Bank Fraud case has further strengthened the involvement of CPI(M). Aravindakshan’s statement to ED implicating CPI(M) in the case has come out. Aravindakshan’s statement emphasizes that the CPI(M) leaders took money. Arvindakshan has told ED that P Satish Kumar has close connection to LDF convener EP Jayarajan. According to the statement, Aravindakshan was also a witness to Satish Kumar’s meetings with EP Jayarajan.
Aravindakshan, also told the ED that AC Moideen was given Rs 2 lakh in 2016 while Rs 5 lakh was given to PK Biju in 2020. The ED report said that Moideen and Biju received the money through Satish’s brother Sreejith. Aravindakshan’s statement was released by the ED after the ED’s announcement that it has started an investigation into the higher-ups in the Karuvannur case.
Earlier, the ED had said that CPI(M) mouthpiece ‘Desabhimani’ was also involved in the Karuvannur Bank fraud case. ED’s new revelation is that Desabhimani Publications was also given money and they received money from P Satishkumar. The ED stated that Desabhimani took the money during 2015-2016 periods and received Rs 36 lakhs in two installments of Rs 18 lakh each. The ED report has evidence of this financial transaction. It is reported that there will be more revelations related to the incident soon.
