Thiruvananthapuram: The India Meteorological Department has forecasted heavy rainfall in the state over the next five days, leading to the issuance of orange and yellow alerts in various districts.
Today, an orange alert has been declared in Idukki district due to the potential for intense rainfall. The orange alert will be extended until tomorrow and Thursday for Idukki and Pathanamthitta.
Meanwhile, a yellow alert was issued to Thiruvananthapuram and Ernakulam districts today. Additionally, a yellow alert is issued for Malappuram district tomorrow.
The existence of a cyclone over the Kanyakumari region and another cyclone in the southwest Bay of Bengal, near the Tamil Nadu coast, is anticipated to increase rainfall in the upcoming days.
