Thiruvananthapuram: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued yellow alert in two districts in the state. A yellow alert has been declared for districts such as Pathanamthitta and Idukki today and tomorrow.
Isolated heavy rain is anticipated until November 24th, attributed to a low-pressure system located over the central-west Andhra coast from the Cape Comorin region, influenced by easterly winds. The Meteorological Department forecasts the possibility of moderate rain accompanied by thunder and lightning in Kerala over the next five days, cautioning about heavy rainfall at isolated places from November 21 to 23.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted heavy rains in Kerala today, with isolated light rain expected in various districts in the state over the next three hours. Districts including Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Pathanamthitta, Alappuzha, Kottayam, Idukki, Ernakulam, Thrissur, Palakkad, Malappuram, and Kozhikode are likely to experience rainfall.
In response to heavy rain in the hilly region of Thiruvananthapuram district yesterday, the Thiruvananthapuram-Shenkottai state highway experienced waterlogging, with water levels rising from Chullimanoor to Palode. Continuous rainfall over the past few hours led to water entering many houses in the affected area.
