Pathanamthitta: Four leaders of the Youth Congress have been apprehended by the police on charges of creation of fake voter’s ID cards for the organization’s internal election process. The arrested individuals, identified as Abhi Vikram, Binil, Binu, Fenny Nainan, and Vikas Krishnan, are active workers from the Adoor constituency in Pathanamthitta.

The accused were believed to be close associates of Youth Congress state president Rahul Mamkootathil. Among the accused, Abhi Vikram, a former district secretary, had his laptop and phone seized by the police, who suspect these devices were used in the production of the fake voter’s ID cards. Earlier, two laptops were confiscated from Pandalam as part of the investigation.

Fenny, Binil, Binu, and Vikas were apprehended in Thiruvananthapuram, while Abhi Vikram was taken into custody from Pathanamthitta. The special investigation team, led by Thiruvananthapuram DCP Nidhin Raj, is currently probing the case. It is expected that more Youth Congress workers may be detained in connection with the incident.

All four arrested individuals were reportedly working closely with Rahul Mamkutathil, the state president of the Youth Congress. This situation can lead to extend the investigation to Rahul as well.
