Three women get injured after being attacked by rabid fox in Malappuram

Malappuram: Three women got injured in Malappuram after being attacked by a rabid fox. The fox also attacked pets and other animals in the area before being bitten and killed by stray dogs. It has been found that the fox was infected by rabies virus. Panchayat authorities have asked the residents to take precautions.

The victims of the attack are undergoing treatment at the Thirurangadi Taluk Hospital. Cows, pet dogs, and goats in the area, which came under the attack of the rabid fox, have sustained serious injuries. A veterinary doctor reached the spot and inspected the injured animals.

The carcass of the fox had been transported to the Veterinary College for examination, where it was found that the fox was infected with rabies virus.
