Kozhikode: The ongoing Nava Kerala Sadas, presided over by Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan and his ministers, faces a security threat from communist terrorists. The Kozhikode district collector has received a threatening letter from the Wayanad wing of these communist terrorists. The letter conveyed a threat, asserting their intention to impart a lesson to the Pinarayi government in response to the alleged killing of communist terrorists. In response, the police have initiated an investigation into the matter.
Meanwhile, the communist terrorists apprehended during a recent encounter in Periya were formally remanded last day. The accused, Chandru and Unnimaya, were presented before the court after the custody period and subsequently shifted to the central jail. They were caught in Chapparath, Periya, during an encounter between Thunderbolt forces and the communist terrorist group. Two of them managed to evade capture. The police have issued a lookout notice for the fugitives.
In response to the escalating clashes with communist terrorists in Kerala, the Tamil Nadu government has heightened security measures. Rigorous inspections are now in place at 14 border check posts, with the deployment of 160 additional police personnel to ensure public safety.
