Thiruvananthapuram: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) issued a cautionary note to the state. Today, there is a chance of isolated heavy rain accompanied by thunder and lightning, along with strong winds with speeds ranging from 30 to 40 km per hour .
This weather alert has been influenced by a cyclonic circulation detected in the southeast-southwest Arabian Sea. This atmospheric system, along with a low-pressure situated south of the Gujarat coast, is expected to result in unstable weather conditions across Kerala for the next five days.
A low-pressure system is expected to form over the Bay of Bengal. Initial indications suggest the possibility of a whirlwind developing over the South Andaman Sea today, likely strengthening into low pressure by tomorrow. The IMD has further projected that this system may intensify into an extreme low pressure over the Southeast Bay of Bengal and Andaman Sea by November 29.
