ERNAKULAM: An emergency syndicate meeting is scheduled to take place in CUSAT today. Kerala State Higher Education Minister Dr. R Bindu will attend this meeting.
The emergency syndicate meeting has been organized in response to the tragic stampede that occurred on November 25th (Saturday) at around 7 pm at CUSAT in Kochi, claiming the lives of four individuals, including three engineering students from CUSAT. State Education Minister Dr. R Bindu will oversee all details regarding the accident. She is set to meet the faculty and student volunteers who organized the ‘Dhishna’ tech fest.
A team comprising the Director of the Directorate of Technical Education and professors from the College of Engineering Thiruvananthapuram (CET)’s Architecture Engineering Department will visit CUSAT’s amphitheater (open-air theatre).
Additionally, a commission headed by Dr. MS Rajasree, Director of the Directorate of Technical Education, will be appointed to submit detailed recommendations on how to organize and establish protocols for such events. This investigation aims to uncover what transpired at CUSAT during the incident.
Dr. Rajasree, Director of the Directorate of Technical Education, will lead the investigation into the CUSAT stampede. She is tasked with developing protocols to prevent similar accidents in the future and to facilitate the hosting of similar events in educational institutions without encountering further issues.
