Thiruvananthapuram: Considering the anticipated rainfall as cautioned by the India Meteorological Department (IMD), a yellow alert has been declared for three districts tomorrow. A yellow alert is declared for Idukki, Kozhikode, and Wayanad districts tomorrow, with the alert extending to Pathanamthitta, Kottayam, Ernakulam, and Idukki on Friday.
The IMD has alerted about the possibility of significant rainfall in Kerala for the next five days. This is attributed to a cyclonic circulation near northern Sri Lanka. Additionally, the existence of a low-pressure over North Kerala, extending between Karnataka and Maharashtra, heightens the chances of experiencing heavy rainfall, according to the Meteorological Department.
A low-pressure system, situated over the southeast Bay of Bengal, is expected to move west-northwest direction and is likely to intensify into a depression over the southeast Bay of Bengal tomorrow. Following this, the low-pressure system is anticipated to intensify, evolving into a cyclonic storm within the next 48 hours.
